Rachel Ray is ready for jihad? What do you think. . .?
Personally, I do not understand. The whole "scandal" (if any at some point) seems built to inspire hatred. Therefore, I think the big question is, why (in the U.S.) do not see the products marketed specifically towards the Arabs and Persians. . . Most grocery stores have Kosher sections, Hispanic foods, Oriental, etc. . . libraries have literature written and marketed to African Americans, Miami has Little Haiti, New York has Harlem, San Francisco, China has little and Philadelphia is the German city. . . I traveled a lot and have never seen a "Little Persia" or "Arabs of the District …" So is this blatant discrimination. . . or Arabic and Persian cultures not addressed in this way. . . or is nothing at all? Do you think that the U.S. is ready for a major commercial campaign that focused in Arabic and Persian Americans. . Thanks?.
This is a bit complicated. First, many believe the kaffeyah is a symbol of the Middle East. many associated with their religion. In fact, it was used by an Arab prince (Syria, I think) to distinguish between women loyal to him, especially their women, and the average citizen. Of course, this is the legend and is always better to cover their heads to keep the sun … Thus Jews, Arabs, Kurds, Turks, Italians, Serbs, Romanians, Georgians and so Skarv head wear. Heck, it's a Seinfeld plot. As to the annoyance Rachel Ray, I do not care if she wears a headscarf. But I still think you could cook Julia Child circles around Ray and Martha Stewart, at the same time. Incidentally, the waiter of the wind in a street fight and Ray is better in a bathing suit … but that is another focus of different day.
